Delaware, is a state located in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, state's population was 783600 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 873092, It is the sixth least populous in the U.S. state of America. It is spread over 2489.27 miē (6447.18 kmē), of which, 1953.56 square miles (5059.7 kmē ) of it is land and 535.71 square miles (1387.48 kmē) of it is water, making it United States's second smallest by total area.

In the state the population was spread out, with 24.8% under the age of 18, 9.6% from 18 to 24, 30.2% from 25 to 44, 22.4% from 45 to 64, and 13% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 94.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91 males. The median age is 36 years, The median age of males was 34.9 years, for females the median age was 37.1 years. The July 2008 population estimate is 783600, The racial makeup of the state was 584773 White, 150666 Black or African American, 2731 American Indian, 16259 Asian, 283 Native Hawaiian, 13033 from two or more races and 15855 Ohter races.
