Dekalb County is a county in the United States of Illinois. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 88969 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 106321, It is Illinois's 19th most populous county. The county spans an area of 634.97 mi˛ (1644.56 square kilometre), of which, 634.16 square miles (1642.47 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.81 square miles (2.1 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 31st largest by total area among Illinois's county.

The population density was 140.3 people per square mile (54.17/km˛), it is 20th most densely populated county in Illinois. There were 32988 housing units at an average density of 52 per square mile (20.08/km˛). The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.11. In the county Age distribution was 23.1% under the age of 18, 22% from 18 to 24, 27.6% from 25 to 44, 17.4% from 45 to 64, and 9.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 101.8 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 103.7 females. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 106321, The racial makeup of the county was 95247 White, 6505 Black or African American, 318 American Indian, 2937 Asian, 86 Native Hawaiian, and 1228 from two or more races.
