Dekalb County, Alabama is a county located in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 64452 inhabitants. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 68515, making it Alabama's 21st largest county. Its area is just over 778.65 sq mi (2016.69 kmē), of which, 777.91 square miles (2014.78 kmē) of it is land and 0.74 square miles (1.92 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 23rd largest by total area in Alabama.
