Dekalb City is a United States city located in the DeKalb County, Illinois, United States. The city has a population of 39018 as per the 2000 census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 45497, making it Illinois's 41st largest. The city has a total area of 12.62 square miles (32.69 sq km), of which, 12.61 square miles (32.66 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 50th largest by total area in Illinois.
