Deer Lake Borough is a one of the Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, located in Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. As per the 2000 census, borough has a population of 528 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 622, It is the 318th least populous in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 0.45 square miles (1.17 square kilometre), of which, 0.42 square miles (1.09 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Pennsylvania's 272nd smallest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 528 residents, 203 households, and 161 families in the borough. The population density was 1261.8 people per square mile (487.18/kmē), it is 867th most densely populated borough in Pennsylvania. There were 216 housing units at an average density of 514.3 per square mile (198.57/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.6 persons, and the average family size was 2.94 persons. In the Deer Lake Borough, 23.1% of the population was under the age of 18, 7% were 18 to 24, 30.9% were 25 to 44, 27.7% were 45 to 64, and 11.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 89.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.2 males.
