Decatur City is a one of the Macon County, Illinois, located in Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. The population of the city was 81860 as per the 2000 census data. Its population was estimated at 76256 in July 2008, making it Illinois's 11th largest. The city encompasses an area of 45.88 square miles (118.83 sq km ), of which, 41.56 square miles (107.64 sq km) of it is land and 4.32 square miles (11.19 sq km) of it is water, makes it the fifth largest by total area in Illinois. It is ranks third in the size of its inland waterways in Illinois.
