De Land City is one of the city of Volusia County, Florida, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 20904 as per the Census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 27243, giving it the 136th largest population among Florida. It has total area of 16.06 miē (41.6 kmē), of which, 15.87 square miles (41.1 kmē) of it is land and 0.19 square miles (0.49 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 112th largest by total area in Florida.

As of the census of 2000, there were 20904 people, 8375 households, and 4634 families living in the city. The population density was 1317.1 people per square mile (508.54/kmē), it is 515th most densely populated city in Florida.
