Daytona Beach City is a one of the Volusia County, Florida, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 64112 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 64211, It is the 34th largest by population in the U.S. state of Florida. The city extends throughout a territory of 64.93 sq mi (168.17 kmē ), of which, 58.68 square miles (151.98 kmē) of it is land and 6.25 square miles (16.19 kmē) of it is water, it is the 12th largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 64112 residents, 28605 households, and 13842 families in the city. The population density was 1092.6 people per square mile (421.86/kmē), it is Florida's 565th most densely populated city. There were 33345 housing units at an average density of 568.3 per square mile (219.42/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.06 persons, and the average family size was 2.77 persons.
