Dayton City, Rhea County, Tennessee is a city located in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 6180 as per the Census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 6771, giving it the 82nd largest population among Tennessee. It is spread over 6.36 miē (16.47 kmē), of which, 6.13 square miles (15.88 kmē ) of it is land and 0.23 square miles (0.6 kmē) of it is water, it is the 142nd largest by area in the U.S. state of Tennessee.
