Dayton City is a city located in Hennepin and Wright counties, Minnesota, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. The city has a population of 4699 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 4643, It is 131st most populous in Minnesota. The city has a total area of 25.17 miē (65.19 kmē), of which, 23.45 square miles (60.74 kmē) of it is land and 1.72 square miles (4.45 kmē) of it is water, it is the 52nd largest by area in the U.S. state of Minnesota.
