Dawson County, Georgia is a county of the United States of Georgia. In 2000, the population was 15999. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 22006, making it the 82nd most populous county in Georgia. It is spread over 213.93 square miles (554.08 square kilometre), of which, 211.04 square miles (546.59 square kilometre ) of it is land and 2.9 square miles (7.51 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 24th smallest by total area in Georgia.

In the county Age distribution was 25.1% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 32.5% from 25 to 44, 25.5% from 45 to 64, and 9.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 99.1 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 100.6 females. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 22006, The racial makeup of the county was 21206 White, 385 Black or African American, 67 American Indian, 141 Asian, 6 Native Hawaiian, and 201 from two or more races.
