Davidson County is a one of the county from Tennessee's 95 counties, located in Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 569891 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 626144, It is Tennessee's second most populous county. The county spans an area of 526.11 sq mi (1362.62 kmē), of which, 502.26 square miles (1300.85 kmē) of it is land and 23.85 square miles (61.77 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 34th largest by total area in Tennessee.

In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 22.2% under the age of 18, 11.6% from 18 to 24, 34% from 25 to 44, 21.1% from 45 to 64, and 11.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.8 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 626144, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 421930 White, 171829 Black or African American, 3012 American Indian, 18064 Asian, 786 Native Hawaiian, and 10523 from two or more races.
