Davenport City is a city in the Polk County, Florida, United States. As of 2000 the population was 1924. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 2560, It is 256th least populous in Florida. It has total area of 1.63 square miles (4.22 sq km), of which, 1.56 square miles (4.04 sq km) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 sq km) of it is water, making it Florida's 237th smallest by total area.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 1924 people, 708 households, and 537 families residing in the city. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 1671 White, 133 Black or African American, 11 American Indian, 6 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 16 from two or more races and 87 Ohter races.
