Dames Quarter Cdp is a census designated place located in Somerset County, Maryland, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. It is home to over 188 people (2000 census). giving it the 24th smallest population among Maryland. The census designated place extends throughout a territory of 18.27 sq mi (47.32 square kilometre ), of which, 12.44 square miles (32.22 square kilometre) of it is land and 5.83 square miles (15.1 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Maryland's 12th largest by total area. It is ranks fourth in the size of its inland waterways in Maryland.
