Dalhart City, Dallam and Hartley counties, Texas is a city located in the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 7237 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 7032, It is the 255th largest in terms of population. Its area is just over 4.29 square miles (11.11 square kilometre), makes it the 478th largest by total area in Texas.

As of the census of 2000, there were 7237 people in the city, organized into 2779 households, and 1940 families residing in the city. The population density was 1686.1 people per square mile (651.01/kmē), it is the 245th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Texas.
