Dale County is a United States county located in the United States of Alabama. As of 2000 the population was 49129. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 48292, It is 27th most populous county in Alabama. It covers total area of 562.67 miē (1457.31 kmē), of which, 561.07 square miles (1453.16 kmē) of it is land and 1.6 square miles (4.14 kmē) of it is water, it is the third smallest in terms of geographical size.
