Dakota City City is a United States city located in the Humboldt County, Iowa, United States. As of 2000 the population was 911. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 824, making it the 305th most populous in Iowa. The city comprises an area of 0.77 square miles (1.99 square kilometre), of which, 0.74 square miles (1.92 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 475th largest by total area in Iowa.
