Dade County is a county located in Georgia, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, the population was 15154. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 16142, making it Georgia's 103rd largest county. The county extends throughout a territory of 174.16 square miles (451.07 kmē ), of which, 173.98 square miles (450.61 kmē) of it is land and 0.18 square miles (0.47 kmē) of it is water, it is the 11th smallest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 15154 people in the county, organized into 5633 households, and 4264 families residing in the county. The population density was 87.1 people per square mile (33.63/kmē), making its Georgia's 52nd most densely populated county. There were 6224 housing units at an average density of 35.8 per square mile (13.82/kmē). The average household size was 2.55 people, and the average family size was 2.97 people. In the county the population was spread out, with 23.8% under the age of 18, 11.8% from 18 to 24, 27.8% from 25 to 44, 24.5% from 45 to 64, and 12% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.8 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 16142, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 96.7% White, 1.49% Black or African American, 0.5% American Indian, 0.38% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 0.9% from two or more races.
