Cuyahoga County is a county located in the United States of Ohio. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Cuyahoga County is home to 1393978 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 1283925 in July 2008, making it Ohio's largest county. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1245.56 sq mi (3225.99 square kilometre), of which, 458.49 square miles (1187.48 square kilometre) of it is land and 787.07 square miles (2038.5 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the second largest by area in the U.S. state of Ohio. It is ranks first in the size of its inland waterways in Ohio.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1393978 people, 571457 households, and 354615 families living in the county. The population density was 3040.4 people per square mile (1173.91/kmē), it is the most populated county in terms of population density. There were 616903 housing units at an average density of 1345.5 per square mile (519.5/kmē). The average household size was 2.39 persons, and the average family size was 3.06 persons. In the county Population was distributed with 25% under the age of 18, 8% from 18 to 24, 29.3% from 25 to 44, 22.2% from 45 to 64, and 15.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 89.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 85.2 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 1283925, The racial makeup of the county was 66.81% White, 29.26% Black or African American, 0.26% American Indian, 2.34% Asian, 0.06% Native Hawaiian, and 1.27% from two or more races.
