Curry County is one of the 36 county of Oregon, located towards the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. Curry County had an official population of 21137 in 2000. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 21523, It is the 11th least populous county in the U.S. state of Oregon. The county comprises an area of 1988.57 square miles (5150.37 sq km), of which, 1627.38 square miles (4214.89 sq km) of it is land and 361.19 square miles (935.48 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 18th largest by total area among Oregon's county. It is ranks first in the size of its inland waterways in Oregon.

As of the census of 2000, there were 21137 people in the county, organized into 9543 households, and 6180 families living in the county. The population density was 13 people per square mile (5.02/kmē), giving it the 21st most densely populated county among the Oregon. There were 11406 housing units at an average density of 7 per square mile (2.7/kmē). The average household size was 2.19 persons, and the average family size was 2.66 persons. In the county the population was spread out, with 19.2% under the age of 18, 4.8% from 18 to 24, 20% from 25 to 44, 29.4% from 45 to 64, and 26.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.8 males. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 21523, The racial makeup of the county was 93.89% White, 0.28% Black or African American, 2.29% American Indian, 0.98% Asian, 0.12% Native Hawaiian, and 2.44% from two or more races.
