Curry County is a county located in the United States of New Mexico. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 45044 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 43755, making it the 12th most populous county in New Mexico. It is spread over 1407.67 sq mi (3645.85 kmē), of which, 1405.95 square miles (3641.39 kmē ) of it is land and 1.72 square miles (4.45 kmē) of it is water, makes it the fourth smallest by total area in New Mexico.

As of the census of 2000, there were 45044 people in the county, organized into 16766 households, and 11869 families living in the county. The population density was 32 people per square mile (12.36/kmē), it is New Mexico's sixth most densely populated county. There were 19212 housing units at an average density of 13.7 per square mile (5.29/kmē). The average household size was 2.62 people, and the average family size was 3.15 people. The population's age distribution was 30.1% under the age of 18, 11.5% from 18 to 24, 28.8% from 25 to 44, 18.1% from 45 to 64, and 11.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.3 males. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 43755, The racial makeup of the county was 84.47% White, 8.38% Black or African American, 1.44% American Indian, 2.91% Asian, 0.19% Native Hawaiian, and 2.6% from two or more races.
