Cuming County, Nebraska is a county located in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 10203 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 9306, making it the 28th most populous county in Nebraska. The county has a total area of 574.54 sq mi (1488.05 sq km), of which, 572 square miles (1481.47 sq km) of it is land and 2.54 square miles (6.58 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 58th largest by total area among Nebraska's county.

In the county the population was spread out, with 27.2% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 25.2% from 25 to 44, 20.9% from 45 to 64, and 20.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 97.9 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 100.8 females. The July 2008 population estimate is 9306, The racial makeup of the county was 98.6% White, 0.16% Black or African American, 0.62% American Indian, 0.19% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 0.39% from two or more races.
