Cumberland County is a county in the United States of Maine. Cumberland County had an official population of 265612 in 2000. In July 2008, its estimated population was 276047, It is the largest in terms of population. The county comprises an area of 1216.89 square miles (3151.73 kmē), of which, 835.51 square miles (2163.96 kmē) of it is land and 381.38 square miles (987.77 kmē) of it is water, it is the tenth largest by area in the U.S. state of Maine. It is ranks fifth in the size of its inland waterways in Maine.

The population density was 317.9 people per square mile (122.74/kmē), it is the most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Maine.
