Cumberland County, Kentucky is a county of the United States of Kentucky. As of 2000 the population was 7147. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 6817, making it Kentucky's seventh smallest county. It covers total area of 310.85 square miles (805.1 square kilometre), of which, 305.82 square miles (792.07 square kilometre) of it is land and 5.02 square miles (13 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 61st largest by total area in Kentucky.

The population density was 23.4 people per square mile (9.03/kmē), making its Kentucky's third least densely populated county. There were 3567 housing units at an average density of 11.7 per square mile (4.52/kmē). The average household size was 2.37 people, and the average family size was 2.89 people. In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 23.6% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 26.8% from 25 to 44, 24.8% from 45 to 64, and 17.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 92.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.1 males. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 6817, The racial makeup of the county was 95.07% White, 3.55% Black or African American, 0.15% American Indian, 0.01% Asian, 0.06% Native Hawaiian, and 1.16% from two or more races.
