Culpeper County is a county located in Virginia, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Culpeper County is home to 34262 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 46203, It is the 36th largest county by population in the U.S. state of Virginia. It is spread over 382.28 sq mi (990.1 square kilometre), of which, 381 square miles (986.79 square kilometre ) of it is land and 1.27 square miles (3.29 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 52nd largest by total area in Virginia.

For every 100 females there were 103.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 103.2 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 46203, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 36879 White, 7696 Black or African American, 165 American Indian, 780 Asian, 6 Native Hawaiian, and 677 from two or more races.
