Cross City Town is a one of the Dixie County, Florida, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 1775 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the town is 1819, It is the second smallest in terms of population. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.9 square miles (4.92 square kilometre), makes it the smallest by total area in Florida.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1775 people in the town, organized into 686 households, and 478 families living in the town. The population density was 935.6 people per square mile (361.24/kmē), it is the second least populated town in terms of population density. There were 799 housing units at an average density of 420.5 per square mile (162.36/kmē). The average household size was 2.51 and the average family size was 3.04.
