Crosby City is a city located in Crow Wing County, Minnesota, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 2299 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 2243, making it Minnesota's 220th largest. The city spans an area of 3.66 sq mi (9.48 kmē), of which, 3.04 square miles (7.87 kmē) of it is land and 0.62 square miles (1.61 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 202nd largest by total area in Minnesota.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 2299 people, 989 households, and 555 families living in the city. The population density was 755 people per square mile (291.51/kmē), making it the 389th most densely populated city in Minnesota. There were 1081 housing units at an average density of 355.6 per square mile (137.3/kmē). The average household size was 2.18 persons, and the average family size was 2.93 persons. In the city the population was distributed as follows: 24.4% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 21.9% from 25 to 44, 20% from 45 to 64, and 25.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 85.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 79.5 males. The median age of the city's population was 42 years, The median age of males was 39 years, for females the median age was 43.8 years. The racial makeup of the city was 97.69% White, 0.04% Black or African American, 0.91% American Indian, 0.22% Asian, 0.09% Native Hawaiian, 0.7% from two or more races and 0.35% Other races.
