Crook County is a county in the United States of Oregon. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 19182 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 23023, It is Oregon's 24th most populous county. The county encompasses an area of 2987.41 square miles (7737.36 square kilometre ), of which, 2979.38 square miles (7716.56 square kilometre) of it is land and 8.03 square miles (20.8 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 12th largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 19182 people in the county, organized into 7354 households, and 5425 families residing in the county. The population density was 6.4 people per square mile (2.47/kmē), giving it the 11th least densely populated county among the Oregon. There were 8264 housing units at an average density of 2.8 per square mile (1.08/kmē). The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 2.96. In the county the population was spread out, with 26.6% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 25.5% from 25 to 44, 25.7% from 45 to 64, and 14.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.3 males. Its population was estimated at 23023 in July 2008, The racial makeup of the county was 22127 White, 23 Black or African American, 366 American Indian, 141 Asian, 7 Native Hawaiian, and 359 from two or more races.
