Crockett County is a one of the county from Tennessee's 95 counties, located in Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 14532 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 14186, giving it the 18th smallest population among Tennessee's county. It is spread over 265.47 mi˛ (687.56 square kilometre), of which, 265.27 square miles (687.05 square kilometre ) of it is land and 0.21 square miles (0.54 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 13th smallest by total area in Tennessee.

In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 25.1% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 22.7% from 45 to 64, and 15.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.7 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 14186, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 84.99% White, 13.89% Black or African American, 0.3% American Indian, 0.08% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, and 0.75% from two or more races.
