Crawford County, Wisconsin is a county located in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. It is home to over 17243 people (2000 census). The July 2008 population estimate is 16885, It is the 15th least populous county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The county extends throughout a territory of 599.22 miē (1551.97 kmē ), of which, 572.69 square miles (1483.26 kmē) of it is land and 26.53 square miles (68.71 kmē) of it is water, making it Wisconsin's 16th smallest county by total area.

As of July 2008, the estimated population was 16885, The racial makeup of the county was 96.59% White, 2.05% Black or African American, 0.29% American Indian, 0.27% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, and 0.79% from two or more races.
