Crandon City is a city located in the Forest County, Wisconsin, United States. The population of the city was 1961 as per the 2000 census data. The July 2008 population estimate is 1816, It is the 235th most populous in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The city encompasses an area of 6.17 mi˛ (15.98 sq km ), of which, 5.22 square miles (13.52 sq km) of it is land and 0.95 square miles (2.46 sq km) of it is water, making it the 98th largest by size in Wisconsin.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1961 people, 76 households, and 48 families residing in the city. The population density was 375.8 people per square mile (145.1/km˛), making it the 123rd least densely populated city in Wisconsin. There were 961 housing units at an average density of 184.1 per square mile (71.08/km˛). The average household size was 2.29 people, and the average family size was 2.96 people. The population's age distribution was 26.6% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 24.3% from 25 to 44, 20.8% from 45 to 64, and 19.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 82.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 81.7 males. The median age was 37.1 years, the median age of male residents at 36.1 and the median age of female residents at 38.8. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 91.18% White, 0.25% Black or African American, 7.04% American Indian, 0.15% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 1.33% from two or more races and 0.05% Other races.
