Craig County is one of the 77 county of Oklahoma, located towards the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. The county has a population of 14950 as per the 2000 census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 15132, It is the 44th most populous county in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. It covers total area of 762.71 sq mi (1975.41 square kilometre), of which, 761.03 square miles (1971.06 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.68 square miles (4.35 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 46th largest by total area in Oklahoma.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 14950 people, 5620 households, and 3948 families residing in the county. The population density was 19.6 people per square mile (7.57/kmē), making it the 45th most densely populated county in Oklahoma. There were 6459 housing units at an average density of 8.5 per square mile (3.28/kmē). The average household size was 2.46 and the average family size was 2.97. In the county the population was spread out, with 23.9% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 27.9% from 25 to 44, 24.3% from 45 to 64, and 16.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 98.9 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 101.5 females. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 15132, The racial makeup of the county was 67.49% White, 3.3% Black or African American, 16.76% American Indian, 0.3% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 12.12% from two or more races.
