Coweta County is one of the 159 county of Georgia, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 89215 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 122924, making it Georgia's 17th largest county. The county comprises an area of 445.98 mi˛ (1155.08 square kilometre), of which, 442.62 square miles (1146.38 square kilometre) of it is land and 3.36 square miles (8.7 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 46th largest in terms of geographical size.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 89215 people, 31442 households, and 24699 families living in the county. The population density was 201.6 people per square mile (77.84/km˛), it is Georgia's 27th most densely populated county. There were 33182 housing units at an average density of 75 per square mile (28.96/km˛). The average household size was 2.81 and the average family size was 3.17. In the Coweta County, 28.7% of the population was under the age of 18, 7.6% were 18 to 24, 33.4% were 25 to 44, 21.8% were 45 to 64, and 8.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.4 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 122924, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 79.97% White, 17.61% Black or African American, 0.21% American Indian, 1.1% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 1.08% from two or more races.
