Covington City is a city in the Tipton County, Tennessee, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 8463 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 9253, It is the 57th largest by population in the U.S. state of Tennessee. It has total area of 10.31 miē (26.7 kmē), of which, 10.29 square miles (26.65 kmē) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 kmē) of it is water, making it Tennessee's 84th largest by total area.
