Covington City is a United States city located in the St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, United States. In 2000, the population was 8483. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 9155, It is 65th most populous in Louisiana. It covers total area of 6.9 sq mi (17.87 square kilometre), of which, 6.8 square miles (17.61 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 89th largest by area in the U.S. state of Louisiana.
