Covington City is one of the city of Kenton County, Kentucky, located towards the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. Covington City had an official population of 43370 in 2000. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 43235, It is fifth most populous in Kentucky. The city encompasses an area of 13.67 square miles (35.41 kmē ), of which, 13.14 square miles (34.03 kmē) of it is land and 0.53 square miles (1.37 kmē) of it is water, making it Kentucky's 21st largest by total area. It is ranks 15 in the size of its inland waterways in Kentucky.
