Courtland Town is a town in the Southampton County, Virginia, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 1270 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 1242, It is the 225th largest by population in the U.S. state of Virginia. The town extends throughout a territory of 0.92 square miles (2.38 sq km ), makes it the 83rd smallest by total area in Virginia.
