Cornelius Town is one of the town of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As per the 2000 census, town has a population of 11969 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the town is 24487, It is the 57th largest in terms of population. It has total area of 8.74 miē (22.64 kmē), of which, 8.46 square miles (21.91 kmē) of it is land and 0.28 square miles (0.73 kmē) of it is water, making it North Carolina's 87th largest by total area.
