Coos County is a one of the county from New Hampshire's 10 counties, located in Northeastern Region (New England) of United States. In 2000, the population was 33111. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 31971, It is New Hampshire's least populous county. It covers total area of 1831.44 sq mi (4743.41 sq km), of which, 1800.39 square miles (4662.99 sq km) of it is land and 31.06 square miles (80.45 sq km) of it is water, it is the largest by area in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. It is ranks fifth in the size of its inland waterways in New Hampshire.

As of the census of 2000, there were 33111 people, 13961 households, and 9164 families living in the county. The population density was 18.4 people per square mile (7.1/kmē), it is the least populated county in terms of population density. There were 19623 housing units at an average density of 10.9 per square mile (4.21/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.33 persons, and the average family size was 2.82 persons. In the Coos County, 22.8% of the population was under the age of 18, 6.3% were 18 to 24, 26.7% were 25 to 44, 25.7% were 45 to 64, and 18.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.6 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 31971, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 31269 White, 103 Black or African American, 108 American Indian, 194 Asian, 5 Native Hawaiian, and 292 from two or more races.
