Cooke County is a county located in the United States of Texas. In 2000, the population was 36363. The July 2008 population estimate is 38407, It is 75th most populous county in Texas. It covers total area of 898.81 mi˛ (2327.91 sq km), of which, 873.64 square miles (2262.72 sq km) of it is land and 25.17 square miles (65.19 sq km) of it is water, it is the 170th largest by area in the U.S. state of Texas.

It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 38407, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 93.35% White, 3.47% Black or African American, 1.23% American Indian, 0.66% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 1.26% from two or more races.
