Converse County, Wyoming is a county located in the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 12052 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 13267, It is the 13th most populous county in the U.S. state of Wyoming. The county extends throughout a territory of 4265.1 square miles (11046.56 square kilometre ), of which, 4254.72 square miles (11019.67 square kilometre) of it is land and 10.38 square miles (26.88 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the ninth largest by area in the U.S. state of Wyoming.

As of the census of 2000, there were 12052 people, 4694 households, and 3410 families living in the county. The population density was 2.8 people per square mile (1.08/kmē), it is Wyoming's 16th most densely populated county. There were 5669 housing units at an average density of 1.3 per square mile (0.5/kmē). The average household size was 2.55 people, and the average family size was 3.01 people. In the Converse County, 28.5% of the population was under the age of 18, 7% were 18 to 24, 28.1% were 25 to 44, 25.4% were 45 to 64, and 11% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.4 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 13267, The racial makeup of the county was 12849 White, 41 Black or African American, 165 American Indian, 35 Asian, 3 Native Hawaiian, and 174 from two or more races.
