According to the 2000 census it had a population of 6188 inhabitants. making it Georgia's 117th largest. The census designated place encompasses an area of 1.93 mi˛ (5 square kilometre ), of which, 1.91 square miles (4.95 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 376th largest by area in the U.S. state of Georgia.
