Concord City is a one of the Merrimack County, New Hampshire, located in Northeastern Region (New England) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 40687 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 42255, It is New Hampshire's third largest by population . The city extends throughout a territory of 67.52 mi˛ (174.88 sq km ), of which, 64.29 square miles (166.51 sq km) of it is land and 3.23 square miles (8.37 sq km) of it is water, it is the largest in terms of geographical size. It is ranks second in the size of its inland waterways in New Hampshire.

As of the census of 2000, there were 40687 people, 16281 households, and 9630 families living in the city. The population density was 632.9 people per square mile (244.36/km˛), it is 38th most densely populated city in New Hampshire. There were 16881 housing units at an average density of 262.6 per square mile (101.39/km˛). It has an average household size was 2.3 persons, and the average family size was 2.95 persons. Age range in the city was well distributed with 23.1% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 33% from 25 to 44, 22% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95 males. The median age was 37 years, the median age of male residents at 35.4 and the median age of female residents at 38.7. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 95.52% White, 1.03% Black or African American, 0.29% American Indian, 1.47% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, 1.31% from two or more races and 0.34% Other races.
