Comal County is a county located in the United States of Texas. As of 2000 the population was 78021. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 109635, It is the 37th largest in terms of population. Its area is just over 574.59 square miles (1488.18 kmē), of which, 561.45 square miles (1454.15 kmē) of it is land and 13.15 square miles (34.06 kmē) of it is water, making it Texas's 17th smallest county by total area.

The population density was 139 people per square mile (53.67/kmē), it is the 29th most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Texas. There were 32718 housing units at an average density of 58.3 per square mile (22.51/kmē). The average household size was 2.64 and the average family size was 3.05. Age range in the county was well distributed with 25.5% under the age of 18, 7% from 18 to 24, 27.5% from 25 to 44, 25.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.8% who were 65 or older. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 109635, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 104182 White, 2630 Black or African American, 606 American Indian, 937 Asian, 48 Native Hawaiian, and 1232 from two or more races.
