The city extends throughout a territory of 22.31 square miles (57.78 sq km ), of which, 21.42 square miles (55.48 sq km) of it is land and 0.9 square miles (2.33 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 19th largest by total area among Mississippi. It is ranks 11 in the size of its inland waterways in Mississippi.
