As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 110627, It is Georgia's 20th most populous county. The county encompasses an area of 307.78 miē (797.15 kmē ), of which, 290.01 square miles (751.12 kmē) of it is land and 17.76 square miles (46 kmē) of it is water, making it Georgia's 97th largest county by total area.
