Columbia City is a city located in Richland and Lexington counties, South Carolina, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, the population was 116278. In July 2008, its estimated population was 127029, It is the largest in terms of population. The city extends throughout a territory of 127.72 square miles (330.79 square kilometre ), of which, 125.22 square miles (324.32 square kilometre) of it is land and 2.49 square miles (6.45 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the largest by total area in South Carolina. It is ranks 11 in the size of its inland waterways in South Carolina.
