It is the 113th most populous in the U.S. state of Maryland. The census designated place extends throughout a territory of 27.66 sq mi (71.64 square kilometre ), of which, 27.56 square miles (71.38 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 244th largest by area in the U.S. state of Maryland.
