Colonie Village is a city in the Albany County, New York, United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 7916 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 8591, It is the 231st most populous in the U.S. state of New York. The city spans an area of 3.31 mi˛ (8.57 square kilometre), of which, 3.3 square miles (8.55 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 347th largest by area in the U.S. state of New York.

As of the census of 2000, there were 7916 residents, 3174 households, and 2255 families in the city. The population density was 2396.7 people per square mile (925.37/km˛), it is New York's 343rd most densely populated city. There were 3264 housing units at an average density of 989.1 per square mile (381.89/km˛). The average household size was 2.49 people, and the average family size was 2.95 people. In the city the population was distributed as follows: 21.6% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 27.6% from 25 to 44, 26.8% from 45 to 64, and 17.3% who were 65 or older. The median age of the city's population was 41.2 years, the median age of male residents at 39.8 and the median age of female residents at 42.7. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 91.68% White, 3.54% Black or African American, 0.09% American Indian, 3.08% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, 1.16% from two or more races and 0.43% Other races.
