Colonie Village is a city in the Albany County, New York, United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 7916 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 8591, It is the 231st most populous in the U.S. state of New York. The city spans an area of 3.31 mi˛ (8.57 square kilometre), of which, 3.3 square miles (8.55 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 347th largest by area in the U.S. state of New York.

As of the census of 2000, there were 7916 residents, 3174 households, and 2255 families in the city. The population density was 2396.7 people per square mile (925.37/km˛), it is New York's 343rd most densely populated city. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 91.68% White, 3.54% Black or African American, 0.09% American Indian, 3.08% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, 1.16% from two or more races and 0.43% Other races.
