Collinsville City is a city located in Madison County, Illinois, in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 24707. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 25960, It is the 80th most populous in the U.S. state of Illinois. It has total area of 13.61 mi˛ (35.25 square kilometre), of which, 13.59 square miles (35.2 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 43rd largest by total area in Illinois.

The population density was 1817.4 people per square mile (701.7/km˛), it is the 385th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Illinois. The median age is 36.6 years, the median age of male residents at 34.7 and the median age of female residents at 38.5. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 91.48% White, 5.85% Black or African American, 0.27% American Indian, 0.59% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, 1.19% from two or more races and 0.59% Other races.
